As of July 2019, Davis Public Works was split into two departments.

The Public Works Engineering & Transportation Department conducts administrative work to support the city’s development and redevelopment. It also provides services in citywide transportation, traffic engineering, bicycle programs, maintenance of maps, and construction. Office hours are on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Public Works Utilities & Operations Department oversees citywide infrastructure and provides services related to streets, urban forestry, signals and streetlights, wastewater, stormwater, solid waste, water, and building maintenance. Office hours are on weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
