Donna Neville was elected to the Davis City Council in a June 2023 special election, after Lucas Frerichs vacated the position to serve on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors.
Neville attended law school in 1987 at UC Davis and has since then remained active in public service. She worked for the Office of the Legislative Council, where she advised staff on K-12 public education and environmental protection; served as chief counsel to the California State Auditor; and was the chief counsel to the State Board of Education.
She now lives in Central Davis with her husband, who is a professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy at UC Davis. Their adult son works in software development.
