The City of West Sacramento is a riverfront community, centrally located in Northern California. The city is growing as a leader in commerce, especially for food-related activities; several food companies have built facilities in the city and nearby farms make fresh produce widely available. It also boasts several recreational activities including boating, rowing, fishing, and paddle boarding in the Sacramento River and biking on popular park trails.
West Sacramento is a general law city that operates under the council/manager form of government. Local residents interested in engaging with city government can find upcoming agendas for meetings of the City Council. Or find out more about serving on an advisory commission or committee.
City Council meetings are generally held on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1110 West Capitol Ave, 2nd Floor, West Sacramento. Residents can attend in person or watch a live stream. Comments can also be submitted in writing via email to clerk@cityofwestsacramento.org.
