Albert Vallecillo is a first-generation, U.S.-born son of Central American immigrants. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and came to the Sacramento Valley to study at University of California, Davis. In 1980 he moved to Winters with his wife. Together they raised their two children in Winters. He returned to Winters in 1993 and has been employed in the construction and design industry as a general contractor, architectural designer, and as a project manager both in private practice and the nonprofit sector. He retired from his position as a project manager at UC Davis in 2018.
Vallecillo has been a volunteer for a number of civic and community-based organizations. He was a founding member of the Affordable Housing Steering Committee and he joined the Hispanic Advisory Committee in 2016. Vallecillo also served on the board of directors of the Rural California Housing Corp. and is currently on the board of the Yolo Interfaith Immigration Network and Winters Community Corazón.
