If you frequent the trails around Folsom and the American River Parkway, chances are you have seen Doug Lee a time or two. Lee is not hard to miss as he can usually be found on one wheel rather than two. Now at 60 years of age, the Folsom resident has launched a fundraiser where he plans to ride the same distance as his age on his unicycle, all in an effort to raise funds and awareness in the fight against Type 1 diabetes.

Motorists along a section of Folsom Boulevard and other intersecting streets in Folsom can expect lane closures to continue a bit longer than expected.

EL DORADO HILLS- Firefighters from three different agencies contained an early morning fire in El Dorado Hills Friday and prevented it from extending to other homes in a well populated neighborhood.

The Folsom Hotel will be the setting for a unique evening of entertainment this Saturday as Nashville Night: Songwriters in the Round takes to the stage of the historic Sutter Street venue. The evening will bring five different talented singer-songwriters together that have tall resumes when it comes to creating, crafting and performing their original works.
