With all the conflict and stressors in the world, the morning of Sept. 21 in Folsom was a reminder there is still plenty of good will, and an unwavering community bond.

On September 21, Folsom put its 11th annual Community Service Day in the history book with approximately 2,000 volunteers contributing their time to over 65 diverse projects across the city and did the work to provide over 43,000 meals for those in need in the months to come. 

The Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe's 31st Annual Golf Classic will take place on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. Edgewood generously donates its course and facilities to the Club each year for one of its largest fundraisers.

The council recognized the first recipients of the annual awards at the regular Sept. 10 meeting. Standout members of the Folsom community were honored with certificates for their exceptional service, dedication and commitment to "making Folsom a better place."

Bread & Broth (B&B), a charitable, all-volunteer organization whose mission is to ease hunger in the Lake Tahoe South Shore community, is looking for service-minded community members who are interested in joining our dedicated team of volunteers.

The Folsom Teen Council has been honored with the Sacramento County District 4 Community Achievement Award for its exceptional contributions during the 2023-24 school year.

It’s the final countdown to the day the community of Folsom will come together as one to make their city a little bit better, brighter, cleaner and safer, to name just a few of the many things that will get accomplished.

The City of South Lake Tahoe extends its deepest condolences to those impacted by the Davis fire in the Reno area. South Lake Tahoe residents and business owners experienced the challenges of evacuation during the Caldor wildfire threat in 2021 and many found accommodations and services in surrounding communities. In response to the ongoing fire, the City of South Lake Tahoe is collaborating with partners to do the same for those displaced.

El Dorado Community Foundation is proud to announce our third annual Nonprofit Board Member Speed Dating event coming this fall to the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. This event was a big hit these past two years as we introduced Nonprofits to interested and dedicated community members to help nonprofits find board members for the amazing work they do in the community!

On Sept. 21, Folsom’s largest day of volunteerism returns, bringing together residents of all ages to complete projects throughout the city aimed at making a lasting, positive impact.
