The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe and Bare Roots Coffee Roasting Co. launched a meaningful new partnership. This collaboration introduces a special coffee medium roast blend, "Root for Tahoe Youth: The Kindness Blend", with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Club. Also, Bare Roots is donating $1 for every bag.
On April 8, the League to Save Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevada Alliance, and Sierra Business Council hosted the annual Sierra Day at the Capitol in Sacramento. Approximately 70 participants attended, representing over 45 organizations.
Last Saturday, Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care's (LTWC) second annual "Born to Be Wild" fundraiser increased its attendance from last year, raised over $5000, and received 150 items from their wishlist, making it possible for them to improve care during the "baby season."

The Tahoe Chamber and South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce invite the community to an essential Fire Forum on April 17 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the TADA Building at South Tahoe High School.This free community event will feature a panel of Fire Chiefs from the Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team, providing crucial information on wildfire preparedness, evacuation routes and key lessons learned from the Palisades Fire.

Azul Latin Kitchen, located in the Heavenly Village, recently awarded a check for $13,000 to Bread and Broth. The donation was largely in part from a $1 donation by Azul for every Queso Fundido appetizer sold (fundido appetizer contributions put the "FUN" in fundraising!), as well the annual fundraiser held at the end of November.
If you follow local news, you've likely read stories about Bread & Broth, a ministry of St. Theresa Catholic Church, whose mission is to feed those in need in South Lake Tahoe. This dedicated organization, comprised wholly of volunteers of all faiths and denominations, continues to directly meet the needs of local residents through their programs, which include the service of twice weekly, hot, full-course meals and healthy food giveaway bags, as well as providing nutritious kid-friendly food to children from the ages of 18 months to 18 years.
