Clean Up the Lake is embarking on a light-hearted and comedic journey to develop creative content that promotes boating safety, in collaboration with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.

Sierra Community House has launched a Community Pantry format in Truckee, which allows individuals to select their own food items, which in turn empowers the community and reduces waste.  The new client choice distribution model incorporates dignity, empowerment and connection into hunger relief services, according to a press release.
Food distribution in Kings Beach already operates with client choice principles, while Incline Village still functions as a traditional model due to the logistical challenges that come with a pop-up pickup and home delivery distribution, according to the release. Lake Tahoe is going on a 5,000 mile trip to Panama City, taking in the passing landscapes on the back of Jorik Blom's roaring motorcycle in the form of a Keep Tahoe Blue sticker.

Following up on three successful murals from last year, the Tahoe Art League is doing another round of murals this year. They are looking for a local artists to design and create murals. The theme this year is We Belong.

The Twin Lakes Food Bank in Folsom routinely serves 200 households a week with food assistance. With that number climbing to 300 in February, the local nonprofit is suffering a shortage, leaving many of the shelves bare in its warehouse as inflation continues to affect just about everyone at the grocery store, the gas pump, and in the way of utility costs.

Clean Up The Lake, the environmental non-profit responsible for the 72-mile cleanup of Lake Tahoe, has recently completed a two-year monitoring effort on the lake. CUTL conservation dive teams revisited 20 litter hotspots in the 0 to 25-foot depths along the Nevada shoreline that were identified during the 72-mile cleanup of Lake Tahoe in 2021.

Clean Up The Lake, an environmental nonprofit group, completed its first SCUBA-enabled pilot research project in Echo Lakes, evaluating litter and surveying for aquatic invasive species.

The El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce has created a new signature event, “Heart of the Hills,” to take place May 11.

Lucky Beaver Bar and Burger, with locations in Stateline and Reno, is supporting local wildlife with a $25,000 donation.
