The Caldor Fire has dramatically changed the landscape on Highway 50, with blackened earth, scorched trees and burned homes from Echo Summit to Kyburz. The U.S. Forest Service Burned Area Emergency Response Team recently surveyed the area to produce a soil burn severity map of the 220,548-acre blaze.
