VOLUNTEER DONATE

League of Women Voters of El Dorado County is a grassroots, nonpartisan organization that aims to educate voters and encourage participation in elections.

Through educational awareness efforts, the League of Women Voters aims to influence public policy, as well as inspiring all voters to take action at the polls. The League of Women Voters is a national organization, but the El Dorado chapter focuses not only on national issues, but also those affecting specifically the state of California and El Dorado County.

The LWV began in 1920 as an organization designed to improve goverment by engaging all Americans in the voting process. It was born out of the movement that gave women the right to vote, but today the organization reaches all people. The League never endorses particular candidates.

League members will promote political dialogue in respectful environments, and will not only learn new perspectives but work actively to bring awareness and education to others on a variety of important issues.

The League has helped to change the world both locally and nationally for more than 100 years. If you wish to particpate in the El Dorado chapter, there are many ways to get involved.
