El Dorado County Ag in the Classroom educates students on the importance of agriculture in the region.
Ag in the Classroom actually gets students out of the classroom for two annual Farm Days. In the spring, the children visit the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville; in fall they go to Camp Richardson Historic Resort in South Lake Tahoe.
The Fields of Learning Program pairs a school with a local farm so that students learn about the role of agriculture in their community during three visits over the course of a year. And the Ag Literacy Program pairs a classroom with a local Future Farmers of America student leader.
