Jim Holmes assumed his seat on the Board of Supervisors January 4, 2005, and is currently serving his fourth term. He represents District 3, which encompasses a portion of north Auburn, Ophir, Newcastle, Penryn, Loomis and most of Rocklin. An Auburn native, Holmes has served his community on various boards and associations, including the Auburn Union Elementary School District Board, the Placer Consolidated Fire Protection District Board, and a founding member of both the North Auburn Municipal Advisory Council and the Highway 49 Business Association.

    The Placer County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 3 approved the submission of an amendment to the county’s housing element.
    Placer County Planning Director Chris Pahule introduced the item noting staff submitted a draft housing element amendment, inclusive of the 15 sites approved for rezoning, to the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) following the May 21 hearing. HCD has since reviewed the amendment package and responded with proposed revisions for Placer.
