Monterey County Supervisor Wendy Root Askew says she will continue her pursuit of a Sheriff’s Office oversight board next year after a new sheriff is in place. Root Askew submitted a board referral directing the formation of an oversight board but her colleagues voted the proposal down 5-1 in March.
