SALINAS — Hartnell College was awarded a $2 million subaward, part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s $71 million Climate Resilience Regional Challenge to advance climate change resilience around the Monterey Bay area through the Monterey Bay Climate Action Adaptation Network.
For Robert Mazurek, executive director of the California Marine Sanctuary Foundation, two things stand out for him as career milestones. The first was helping to launch the Seafood Watch program at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in the early 2000s.
The Climate Resilience Regional Challenge grant, aimed at combating the effects of climate change, will bring $2 million to California State University Monterey Bay.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced $575 million in funding for 19 climate resilience projects throughout the country on Friday, July 26.
