In 2018 John Gaglioti successfully ran for the Del Rey Oaks City Council, where he is currently serving a four-year term. Equipped with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, Gaglioti pursued a career in energy and utilities. He is the founding developer of the California Flats Solar Project, which he describes as “Monterey County's first and largest solar project, supplying energy to Apple, Inc. and PG&E, in partnership with Hearst Corporation.” Gaglioti also developed the Dry Lake Wind Project, Arizona's first wind farm, and worked for GroundWork Renewables, located in San City, which designs, installs and maintains solar monitoring stations for solar power plants. At present he is vice president of business development at Mynt Systems, which specializes in high-performance lighting, window retrofit solutions, and renewable energy.
