United Way of Nevada County

United Way of Nevada County improves lives in the region by bringing community resources to those in need.

According to the nonprofit group’s official mission statement, United Way of Nevada County works “to improve lives by equitably directing community resources to local needs. We commit to leveraging all of our assets to creating a more equitable community.”

This group, which is a local chapter of the international organization United Way, works to help individuals and communities reach their full potential through health, education, and steady income. It has a special focus on historically marginalized communities.

Specifically to the local region, the ultimate goal is to ensure all residents of the county have food, healthcare access, and clothing. United Way of Nevada County also partners with other organizations to bridge the gaps in social services and reduce the number of residents living below the poverty line.
