Sierra Community House announced the inaugural "Blue Harvest: United to Nourish," farm-to-table dinner aimed at supporting local hunger relief efforts. Blue Harvest will take place on Aug. 25 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Dancing Pines venue in Sierraville located at 250 Fibreboard Road. 

The Truckee 4th of July Parade, produced by the Truckee Chamber of Commerce, proved that our little town knows how to have a great time!

The winter of 2022-23 was one for the record books, and all that snow helped make for a great ski season, filled our lakes, and brought about a great summer wildflower show. But also left Truckee Donner Land Trust with a little cleanup last summer.

The Sierra State Parks Foundation was born when a group led by local women of the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, persuaded the Department of Parks and Recreation to scrap its plans for razing the 1903 Ehrman Mansion after it was acquired by the state in 1965. As a result, the concept of creating formalized public-private partnerships to improve the management of the state’s park system was formed.

This summer, the Tahoe Fund is teaming up with AllTrails to offer a new opportunity to give back to Tahoe trails.

As part of the ongoing efforts to enrich community involvement in the development of the new Truckee Regional Library, the Core Partners (Nevada County, Town of Truckee and Friends of the Truckee Library) are excited to announce a series of in-person engagement events throughout June and July, inviting residents to contribute their ideas and feedback toward the design of the new library.

With support from the Tahoe Fund and Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, every local fire agency in the Tahoe Basin now has access to Fire Aside, a software platform that makes defensible space and home hardening evaluations significantly faster to carry out, and risk mitigation recommendations easier for residents to implement. 

The Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation announced a groundbreaking $10 million commitment from Braddock Philanthropies in support of TTCF's strategic initiatives over the next five years.

Now through June 10, Alpenglow Sports is encouraging people to take part in its fourth annual Community Book Initiative.

While the Truckee-Tahoe region might not have the same struggles as a big city like San Francisco or Los Angeles in terms of the unhoused population (ours is in the hundreds rather than the thousands), it doesn't make our population any less important to address and help.

While the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association (TAMBA) has a consistent roster of signature events including the Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival and the impressively grueling Rose to Toads ride, this year it will add more educational and inclusive events on and off the trail.

The Truckee Chamber of Commerce invites you to our June Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, June 12, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Truckee Town Hall in the Town Council Chambers.

On Friday, May 17, a new pedestrian bridge was installed, connecting West River to Truckee Springs.

Twenty-five new engraved bears are now hanging from the railings in Tahoe City's Heritage Plaza through a partnership with the Tahoe Fund, Placer County and the Tahoe City Public Utility District to raise money for trails in North Lake Tahoe.
