Gold Country Senior Services was created to ensure that Grass Valley’s seniors have everything they need for a comfortable life, including warm meals and friendship.
Gold Country Senior Services was created in 1976 under the name Senior Citizens Foundation of Western Nevada County. Its mission was to provide for the basic needs of seniors living in Western Nevada County, and that still holds true today with approximately 120 volunteers and a small support staff working to reach every senior in need. The group provides meals both at an onsite cafe and Meals on Wheels contributions. Gold Country Senior Services also delivers firewood to senior homes during the cold weather months, provides companionship and regular social events, and more.

The majority of the above resources are powered by volunteers. These volunteers chop firewood, bag groceries to be delivered, work in the cafe, teach classes, and deliver various necessities. To get involved, visit the website's upcoming events page for more information.
