El Dorado Community Foundation encourages private giving for the public good, maintaining a permanent endowment fund to respond to changing community needs. The foundation provides a tax-exempt vehicle for donors with varied interests and abilities to give.
In addition to administering grants and scholarships and connecting donors to causes, the El Dorado Community Foundation helps to shape effective responses to community problems and opportunities. It also amplifies the work of local groups, providing a nonprofit directory on its website.

Kings Meats extended their annual turkey giveaway to South Lake Tahoe this past Sunday, providing over 700 turkeys to families in need.
