Placer County gets another nod in Money magazine’s annual list of the top 50 best places to live in America. Last year, Roseville made the grade. For 2021, Rocklin was ranked 43rd for its “top-rated schools, ample entertainment and recreational opportunities in spades.”

There was never a question of if but when Placer County would be hit with a catastrophic wildfire. Unfortunately, the “when” was Aug. 4 with the River Fire, which hit Colfax. Ways to help affected residents are varied, from donating funds and supplies to temporarily housing fire victims’ pets.

An annual tradition since 2005 in the town of Loomis, the Summer Concert Series and Family Fest usually begins in May and runs through summer with monthly shows. Cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the series is reduced to just one day this summer.
