The primary mission of the Human Resources Division is to develop a staff and workforce philosophy that embodies the City Council's mission, vision, and core values in its daily decision making.

In partnership with the other city departments, the division is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and retaining talented and qualified employees. It is also the division's responsibility to implement the City Council’s compensation philosophy, both salary and benefits, to ensure access and compliance with various leave policies and other administrative practices.
