The Sacramento Police Department is made up of four offices. The Office of Operations covers the Patrol Division and Communications Division (911 center), along with the Problem Oriented Policing, Gang Enforcement, and Marijuana Compliance units. The Office of Investigations includes Detectives, Forensic Investigations, Homeland Security, Training, Personnel Services, Fiscal, Records Division, and Evidence and Property.

The Office of Specialized Services includes K9 and SWAT, and Traffic/Air Operations, among other services. The Office of the Chief includes Internal Affairs, Professional Standards, the Criminal Intelligence Unit, Government Affairs, Media Services, and the Public Information Office.
