Recently, the City of Hollister began its 2024 City Wide Roadway Improvement Project to rehabilitate more than 18 lane miles of local streets, upgrade over 40 curb ramps, and reconstruct 588 linear feet of sidewalks.
The San Benito Board of Supervisors approved a contract to repair Shore Road, which connects Highways 25 and 156. The county awarded the contract to Teichert & Sons Inc., a 100-year-old California company with previous experience in the county, which made the lowest bid.
The San Benito Council of Governments , an agency formed by the cities of Hollister and San Juan Bautista and the San Benito County to deal with regional issues, including transportation needs, approved a study of the best way to improve Hwy 25.
A project to replace culverts on northbound State Route 25 (SR-25), near Sunset Drive has now begun on Monday, September 23.Travelers will encounter an intermittent lane closure during the daytime hours of Monday morning to Friday afternoon from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.Delays are not expected to exceed 15 minutes. This project is expected to be completed later next week.
The Ladd Lane and Southside Road project that keeps evolving is scheduled to be completed by January 2025. The latest iteration, approved by the Hollister City Council in August 2023, will have a four-lane roadway with lit crosswalks, protected bike lanes, speed tables, radar speed signs and a traffic camera.
Two years after it was conceived, the plan for the 141 single-family unit project known as Lands of Lee, proposed to be built on Fairview Road in Hollister, has yet to be approved.
