David Garcia is Nevada County's new public works director starting Sept. 1. Garcia, who started with the County in 2007, has worked on public works programs in Nevada County for 15 years, most recently as the County's solid waste program manager.

]On Thursday, Aug. 8, the Nevada County Planning Commission met to discuss the proposed Alpenglow Sawmill and Wood Processing Facility. Nevada County Public Works invites you to a public meeting about the Local Road Safety Plan on Monday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. at the Eric Rood Administrative Center, 950 Maidu Ave, Nevada City. Staff use the plan to identify roadway safety improvements in unincorporated Nevada County.

The Nevada County Assessor's Office has certified the 2024 Nevada County Assessment Roll, which reflects the value of all taxable property in Nevada County and provides a comprehensive view of the strength of the local real estate market.

On July 10, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors approved the Good Neighbor Agreement between the USDA, Tahoe National Forest and the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services for a decade-long collaboration to advance county-wide fuels reduction and forest health initiatives.
