The Economic Development Department strives to develop jobs by attracting new businesses to Stockton while maintaining a healthy business environment for existing businesses and assisting small start-ups. The department also focuses on providing housing for low-income residents.

The Economic Development Department is comprised of four divisions: Economic Development, Housing, Parking and Venues, and Real Property.
