Dan Arriola was raised in Tracy and graduated from West High School. He headed south for college, attaining the title of valedictorian at UCLA and student body president at USC Law School. He returned back home, where he serves as the first-ever community prosecutor with the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office.
Arriola founded the Young Professionals of Tracy and served on the Tracy Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. His first successful run for elected office was in 2016, when he won a seat on the Tracy Unified School District Board of Trustees.
Arriola was elected to the Tracy City Council in 2018 and then reelected in 2022. Just 29 when he joined the council, he is the first openly LGBTQ elected official in the city’s history.
