Alan Nakanishi is a former mayor and current councilmember of the Lodi City Council. His family was caught up in the Japanese American internment, and they relocated to Sacramento at the end of World War II. He served as a major in the U.S. Army in the surgical unit and worked as a physician and ophthalmologist in the region for decades.
