The Manteca City Council is composed of five members. As of the 2022 election, the city began the transition to district elections. Four councilmembers now each represent one of the four districts, and the mayor is elected by all voters. According to the city website, the council’s goals are to deliver the following: stabilized city finances; expanded homelessness solutions and affordable housing options; economic vitality; improved city infrastructure and facilities; quality of life for residents; and organizational effectiveness.
The council meets twice monthly; agendas and minutes are available online. Residents who have Comcast Cable may watch live broadcasts of all public meetings on Channel 97, Manteca’s government access channel.
