The Board of Library Trustees supervises the public library program. It makes and enforces bylaws, rules, and regulations for the administration of the public library; approves or disapproves the appointment of the city librarian; accepts donations into the library fund (subject to the approval of the City Council); and contracts with other governmental agencies to render or receive library services (also subject to the approval of the council).

The five-member board is composed of volunteers who are appointed by the council. All appointees must be registered voters and residents of the city and may not hold any paid office in, or be employed by, the city of Santa Clara.

Meeting Schedule: Regular Commission meetings take place every first Monday of each month at 6 p.m.
