The Finance Department provides timely and accurate financial information to city management, the City Council and the public, and administers the city's assets in a prudent and responsible manner. The department’s responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, business licenses, debt administration, general ledger accounting, payroll, purchasing, cash management, and utility billing, as well as accounting for the South County Regional Wastewater
-Authority.

The Information Technology Division of the Finance Department provides high-quality technology-based services in a cost-effective manner to facilitate the city's mission of service to the community. IT staff members identify technological needs and develop, evaluate, recommend and implement solutions to maintain network infrastructure, telecommunications, and application software systems.
