Rene Spring has lived in Morgan Hill since 2004. He moved from Switzerland to the Bay Area in 1998, and became a U.S, citizen in 2006. He is married to Mark, an artist; their family includes three adult children, three grandkids, and four cats. In the past Spring has served as a planning commissioner, a board member and president of Leadership Morgan Hill, a board member and president of the Morgan Hill Community Foundation. He won reelection to his District C seat in 2020 with 68.7 percent of the vote.

Two new Morgan Hill City Council members, the new City Treasurer and the reelected mayor were sworn in for office at the Dec. 11 council meeting.
Morgan Hill’s two new city council members and city treasurer, as well as the re-elected mayor, will be sworn in at an inauguration ceremony at 6pm Dec. 11 at council chambers at 17555 Peak Ave.
A new family farmworker residential development celebrated its grand opening in Morgan Hill on Nov. 20, adding 73 more homes to the city’s stock of affordable housing.
