The city manager serves at the pleasure of the City Council and is responsible for advancing the council's goals and priorities, providing leadership for the city's day-to-day operations, and administering the biennial budget. The city manager supervises the following departments: Administrative Services, Development Services, Community Services, Fire, Police, and Engineering & Utilities. In addition, the city manager serves as the director of emergency services and the executive director of the successor agency to the Redevelopment Agency.
