Santa Cruz SPCA provides a safe environment and resources for animals in the shelter while finding adoption nominees, advocating and educating individuals on animal care. By keeping animals healthy and happy, the organization aims to reduce the number of homeless animals.
The Santa Cruz SPCA was founded in 1938 in helping homeless animals. Focusing on animal welfare, SPCA in collaboration with the Santa Cruz community, provides “rescue and adoption, an evolving array of humane education programs, promotion of spay/neuter, a free pet food pantry, no-cost behavior and training classes, and other programs and services.”
