On May Day, UCSC Students Establish Gaza Solidarity Encampment
Today, students at UC Santa Cruz marched for International Workers' Day and then established a Gaza solidarity encampment at Quarry Plaza.

The Salvation Army is an international charitable organization with more than 1.7 million members consisting of officers, soldiers, and adherents. In Santa Cruz County, it operates centers in Santa Cruz and Watsonville, and the Redwood Glen Camp in Scotts Valley.
In addition to dropoff centers for doations, the Army operates a thift store, Corp Community Centers and a camp in Santa Cruz County. The centers offer various services, include food and nutrition programs, emergency shelter, worship services, and more. Salvation Army thrift stores raise money by selling donated used items such as clothing, housewares, and toys. When items are bought at the organization’s thrift stores, part of the proceeds go toward emergency relief efforts and charitable programs.
