The county counsel is the legal advisor for Yolo County, working with the Board of Supervisors and county officers, departments, and affiliated agencies. The office represents the county in all civil law matters, and prepares ordinances, resolutions, and contracts. The office also provides legal services to about two dozen outside entities that have some affiliation with the county, including fire and cemetery districts, the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District, and joint powers authorities such as the Valley Clean Energy Alliance and Yolo Habitat Conservancy.
