The Yolo County Sustainability Division has launched the Yolo Energy Partnership, a new initiative aiming to help residents in unincorporated Yolo County reduce utility costs, improve home comfort and access free energy-efficiency resources.

The Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency has been awarded a $290,630 grant to continue its Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program.

Effective May 1, the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) will update operating days and hours of its Behavioral Health Clinics in West Sacramento and Davis. The Woodland location will keep its current schedule.

On Jan. 20, the Trump Administration rescinded the federal government’s "sensitive locations" policy. The sensitive locations guidance was issued in 2021 and expanded on 2011 guidance issued by the federal government. This guidance limited immigration enforcement activities at or near schools, childcare centers, churches and hospitals unless there was an immediate public safety threat.

Yolo County has adopted its groundbreaking 2030 Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP), unanimously approved by the Board of Supervisors on Dec. 3, 2024.

Avian influenza, also known as bird flu and influenza A (H5N1), has been detected in a backyard poultry flock in Yolo County, according to the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency and the Yolo County Agricultural Commissioner.

Yolo Superior Court is now accepting applications for the 2025/2026 Yolo County Grand Jury. Each July 1, the Yolo Superior Court impanels 19 grand jurors and 11 alternates who serve as an arm of the judicial system, but act as an entirely independent body.

During the week of Jan. 5 to Jan. 11 in Yolo County, four people were charged with Shoplifting with Two Priors and two people were charged with Possession of Hard Drug with Two Priors that mandates treatment.
