The El Dorado County 4-H Program enrolls about 550 youth in local programs and nearly 140 adult volunteers help engage students in varied learning experiences. There are ten clubs in the county.

4-H provides hands-on programs for kids and teens in areas like health, science, agriculture, and civic engagement with assistance from University of Califoria Cooperative Education. 4-H programs are offered through in-school activities, after-school programs, community clubs, and camps.

The organization started off more than 100 years ago by educating youth about agricultural development on university campuses. With the help of 500,000 volunteers and 3,500 professional care providers, 4-H now reaches nearly six million people. Through hands-on learning, 4-H participants gain useful skills they can usse to serve their communities.
