Placerville Arts Association promotes the visual arts and holds various events throughout the year for artists and the community at large.

According to its official website, the Placerville Arts Association “promotes the creative work of its members, provides opportunities for sharing ideas among artists, and invites public interest through a variety of visual arts events.” The association holds several events each year. These include:

  • Monthly meetings every third Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
  • The PAA studio tour, held every autumn to welcome the public into several art galleries and showcase the methods of multiple local artists
  • Membership shows for those who are members of PAA
  • PAA National Motherlode Art Exhibition
  • Regular “Paint Outs” where any artist is welcome to set up an easel and paint outdoors around local ponds
  • Classes and workshops for both association members and the general public

The PAA is a strong advocate of the arts in Placerville, but also partners with other area arts organizations to create a powerful arts presence all throughout El Dorado County.
