One of the oldest railroad lines, El Dorado Western Railroad is still running as part of the attractions at the El Dorado County Historical Railroad Park.

Rides are given on gang cars, which were used by railroad inspectors, officials, workers, and others to travel the rails. The round trip takes about 40 to 45 minutes, with a maximum speed of 10 mph.
