The Food Bank of El Dorado County works with with local community groups to provide nutritious food to people in need.

The Food Bank works with multiple entities, including the Emergency Food Assistance Network. In an average year, this collaborative partnership distributes more than $3 million in food assistance.

Other partnerships include a relationship with the El Dorado County Veteran’s Commission to provide an emergency food assistance safety net for local veterans and their families. And the Food Bank teams up with the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians on the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which serves seniors over age 60 in Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo counties.

El Dorado County Food Bank is bringing a free food truck to South Lake Tahoe on the fourth Wednesday of the month in July, August and September. The truck will stop from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1041 Lyons Ave.
