This group got its start with Truckee River Day, an annual event that drew volunteers to work on stream, meadow and wetland restoration.

Now, the Truckee River Watershed Council spearhead multiple large-scale restoration projects. And more than two decades, Truckee River Day is still going strong, with more than 400 volunteers every year.

From the first Truckee River Day event in 1996 to now, the Truckee Rivershed Water Council (TRWC) has partnered with organizations like the U.S. Forest Service and California State Parks to restore and revitalize the watershed and river.
