Notable quote: “I have a unique background as my education is in the geology and environmental sciences field, which propelled me to land use planning and cultural tourism work in rural communities and counties throughout the Sierra Nevada. During this time I grew to understand and connect the social, economic and natural world and assist communities and groups with planning for a prosperous future that nurtured these three distinct principles.” (Source: LinkedIn)

Wildfires impact every Californian, and when one community suffers, the whole state feels the effects. To show solidarity and support, the Truckee Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Town Council Member Courtney Henderson to organize a relief drive for wildfire victims in Los Angeles.
The Truckee Town Council met on Tuesday, Jan. 14, to discuss updates regarding the new library.
The Truckee Chamber of Commerce announced the 2025 Core Values Fund Grant Recipients. This community event fund, established in collaboration with the Town of Truckee and administered by the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, is designed to support local nonprofits in the region or events that partner with non-profit organizations by providing essential marketing resources.
The Town of Truckee announced that Councilmember Courtney Henderson has been selected to join the prestigious Rodel Fellowship, California Class of 2025. This highly competitive program brings together 24 outstanding state and local leaders from across the political spectrum to engage in thoughtful dialogue on ethical values, democratic principles, and effective leadership.
The 2024 wildfire season has proven once again to be an active one, with California witnessing over 7,100 wildfires that have scorched more than 1 million acres. The Tahoe region, in particular, experienced several major fires, including one of the largest in state history. While many homes and structures were lost, and lives were impacted, the devastating consequences could have been much worse. For residents of the Truckee-Tahoe area, the recent fires served as a stark reminder of the region's ongoing wildfire risks.
