The El Dorado Hills Fire Department wrapped up the month of February as personnel and their families dressed their best and gathered for the department's annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony this past weekend in El Dorado Hills, celebrating the dedication and achievements of its firefighters and staff.

After an impressive 35-year career in fire service, El Dorado Hills Fire Chief Maurice “Mo” Johnson is turning in his badge. Johnson, who has served as the department’s leader since 2019, has announced his retirement and plans officially step down from the helm of the department this month, putting a cap on legacy career of of dedication, resilience, and community leadership.

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department was joined by members of the local community Monday to carry on a tradition of remembering one of their own that lost his life in the line of duty.
