Monique Scobey has lived in Cameron Park since 1995, when she moved here with her husband and three small children, who attended Blue Oak School, Camerado Middle School and Ponderosa High School. She was first appointed to the Cameron Park Community Services District Board of Directors in September 2017 and then ran for office and was elected in November 2018. For her new term, starting in December 2022, Scobey ran unopposed.

Scobey grew up in Davis and attended the University of California at Davis, earning a bachelor’s degree in both aeronautical and mechanical engineering. After graduation, she moved to Southern California and completed her master’s degree in aerospace engineering at the University of Southern California while working on the Space Shuttle program. After working in aerospace, she and her family moved to Cameron Park.

Scobey has served on the Prospector Soccer Club Board and the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Notable quote: “I am pleased and privileged to serve another four years as a director for the Cameron Park CSD. In the past four years many tasks have been accomplished. We have balanced the budget, installed a cost-saving solar project, added a disc golf course and weathered the COVID crisis. Now, there are many projects ahead of us, including negotiating our fire contract, improving park amenities and continuing responsible management of the district.” (Source: Village Life)
