The “philanthropic experts” of the Community Foundation for Monterey County steer individuals, families, nonprofits, and businesses to support charities and grants that “create healthy, safe, vibrant communities in Monterey County and beyond.”
The nonprofit has recently created donations for Women’s Economic Security, which aids low-income women in the workplace; Girls’ Health in Girls’ Hands; and the Siembra Latinos Fund, designed to improve the quality of life for Latino residents of Monterey County.

Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC) has announced the addition of Dr. Rolando Cabrera, Mary Claypool and Robert Cullen to its Board of Directors.

Montage Health announced the creation of the Montage Health Fund for Teachers, which will be open to teachers in any Monterey County school—public or private, any grade level from K-12—to receive grants of up to $1,000 toward their costs of health care.
More than $1.5 million in CFMC scholarship awards is available for Monterey County students in 2024. The deadline to complete an application for the 2024-25 academic year is Friday, March 15. Recipients will be announced at the end of May 2024.
The 2023 edition of Monterey County Gives! is out now. Last year, Monterey County Weekly and its partners raised more than $11 million in six weeks, thanks to 7,500 donors.
