COUNCILMEMBER'S WEBSITE    

Oscar Avalos was sworn in March 28, 2023, to fill King City’s District 1 seat, which covers the northern region of the city. Avalos will serve out the remainder Darlene Acosta’s term; she resigned shortly before her death on Feb. 14.


The longtime King City resident has served on the Planning Commission and Sales Tax Advisory Committee, and has been part of the Salinas Valley Planning Commission Academy. He also has been an ambassador for the King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.


Avalos was appointed by a unanimous vote at a special meeting on March 22, 2023. The other applicants were Michael Oliveira and Erica Gonzales.
