Mike LeBarre, the council representative from District 2, ran unopposed as an incumbent for the seat in November 2018. In 2021, while serving as mayor, LeBarre talked about King City’s progress in a State of the City speech. According to the King City Rustler, LeBarre said at the Jan. 7 meeting, “One of the things I felt was very important for our future, is to maintain our small town feel. I want us to have all the amenities of a big city, but I never want us to lose the community that has been here. Our strength is not in individuals, our strength is in those volunteer groups and the nonprofit groups.”

In November 2022, LeBarre ran unopposed and was reelected for another term.
