The Food Bank of Nevada County distributes food to local people in need.

Distribution service days are as follows:
Grass Valley: Second and fourth Thursday (every month), 10 a.m.-noon
North San Juan: Second Tuesday (every month), 10 a.m.-noon
Washington “Little Town”: Third and fifth Wednesday (every month), noon
Higgins: Third Thursday (every month), 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Truckee: Every Tuesday, 4-5 p.m.

Emergency food pickup at the group’s warehouse is available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 310 Railroad Ave, Grass Valley. Check the group’s website or its Facebook page.

In addition to acquiring a new warehouse next, door, the Food Bank added a solar array on the roof, an electric car charging port, and a commercial baler that will help in the reuse of cardboard and plastic.
