The Office of the Chief is administered by the chief of police, who also has command oversight and responsibility for the entire Police Department. The chief of police is an appointed position with the responsibility of hiring, directing and leading all personnel and resources. The chief is appointed by and answers to the city manager.
The Operations Division consists of several police units, including Patrol, SWAT, Animal Control, Canine, Traffic/Motors, Reserve Program, Field Training, and Crime Prevention.
The Support Services Division includes the 911 Communications Center, Records, Technical Services, Investigations, and Youth Services.
