The Lodi City Council establishes local laws, develops and enforces policies, approves programming, designates funds, and oversee all city government operations. Each councilmember is elected by residents in the candidate’s specific district, and those elected must live within district boundaries. Elections are held in November on even-numbered years, and there are no term limits for councilmembers.


Meetings: Regular meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of every month at the Carnegie Forum, 305 W Pine St., and televised on SJTV Channel 26. Informal “shirtsleeve” sessions take place at 7 a.m. every Tuesday, also in Carnegie Forum.
