Mountain View’s plans to redevelop Moffett Boulevard are taking shape, with several proposals on the table to roll out new land use regulations that would encourage more housing and commercial activity along the busy corridor.
Mountain View is making strides with its plan to rezone parts of the city to create more opportunities to build more homes, including some lower-density multifamily residential areas.
In recent years, Mountain View has struggled with high retail vacancy rates, despite efforts to revitalize the downtown corridor.
For nearly a decade, Mountain View has poured money into programs and services to try and turn the tide of homelessness in the city. But it still has not been enough to stave off housing insecurity for a large number of residents.
Mountain View’s mobile home park tenants scored a big win Tuesday evening, following a yearslong effort to get the city to offer more rent control protections and cap annual rent increases below the rate of inflation.
